Poisonbean / Rattlebush – grows on the edge of marshes and watery areas… goats, sheep, and cattle will die within 24-hrs of ingesting the bean pods. Wild animals know to avoid. Pasture land with marshy areas must be meticulously culled of these plants which bloom from May – October with stunning displays. It thrives here in the Marsh at The Heights Reservoir, above the ancient White Oak Bayou. The foul taste and smell keeps the dogs and coyotes away.
